Victoire de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie, introduces Gem Dior, a collection of seven watches and eleven pieces of jewelry.
“I designed a collection of watches and jewelry that’s not figurative… The spirit of this collection is modern, it’s a style that I would describe as abstract-organic, an organized disruption that turned out to be a true technical challenge for our ateliers,” explains De Castellane.
De Castellane who is keen on honoring the house’s founder enjoys reinterpreting the manner Monsieur Dior crafted his haute couture collections from the sketching process to the handling of fabrics.
Gem, synonymous with ‘J’aime’ (French for ‘I love’), includes an emblematic timepiece in yellow gold and gemstones with an octagonal case and cut-out sides set with turquoise and diamonds around a malachite dial.
The jewelry collection mirrors the wristwatch’s design with rings, bangles and earrings in yellow, pink and white gold paved with diamonds.
