Zenith and contemporary artist Felipe Pantone have collaborated on a limited edition of the Defy Skyline Tourbillon, marking their third partnership. This collaboration, a unique blend of contemporary art and haute horlogerie, brings together the worlds of optical intricacies, innovative design, and vibrant colors. The Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone is a 41mm watch with a highly geometric design. It features a satin-brushed and polished stainless-steel case, an interchangeable steel bracelet and black rubber strap, and a dodecagonal bezel that creates a striking play of light. The watch includes a tourbillon mechanism visible through the opening at 6 o’clock that completes one rotation every 60 seconds, ensuring constant animation. The tourbillon bridge, shaped like a lightning bolt, features a gradient of metallic rainbow tones, echoing Pantone’s signature style.
The Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone also features a sapphire dial with a micro-engraved pattern of concentric circles, a mirrored metallic finish, and a vignette effect that darkens towards the edges. The hands and hour markers are distorted down the middle, creating a graphical glitch that is unique to Pantone’s style. The watch is powered by the El Primero 3630 high-frequency automatic movement, which includes a star-shaped oscillating weight with a rainbow PVD finish. The watch comes in a custom box designed by Pantone, featuring an iridescent pattern. The limited-edition of 100 pieces will be available from Zenith online and physical boutiques, as well as with select retailers, worldwide from September 12, 2024.
